Commissioning Manager | Mechanical Services & Mission Critical Projects Sydney Based Role Mechanical Commissioning, HVAC, Building Services And Critical Infrastructure Experience Highly Regarded Strong Opportunity With A Growing Technical Project Delivery Team HRG is partnering with a global critical infrastructure business to appoint a Commissioning Manager for a growing Sydney based project team. This role is suited to someone who has built their career around commissioning, testing, technical services, mechanical systems, HVAC, building services or mission critical project environments. We are particularly keen to speak with Commissioning Managers, Commissioning Engineers or Senior Commissioning Leads who understand the practical reality of construction projects, customer witness testing, commissioning documentation, punch lists, handover and technical issue resolution. The ideal person will have strong mechanical services knowledge and the communication skills to work confidently with customers, project managers, engineers, service teams and site based contractors. The Opportunity You will play a key role in the commissioning of complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure across technical construction projects. You will be responsible for developing and executing commissioning plans, test scripts, customer testing processes and handover documentation. You will work closely with project management, engineering and service operations to ensure equipment is installed, tested, documented and handed over properly. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the technical detail, but who also understands that commissioning is heavily customer facing. Clear communication, strong reporting and the ability to manage expectations are critical. What You Will Be Doing Developing mechanical, electrical and total system commissioning test scripts Planning and executing commissioning activities across technical construction projects Attending pre customer testing and customer witness testing Supporting FWT, FAT and SAT activities Working with customer commissioning teams, commissioning agents and project stakeholders Coordinating with project managers, engineering teams and service operations Preparing commissioning reports, test documentation and customer handover packs Conducting site walkthroughs, defect reviews and punch list close out activity Reviewing installation quality and supporting QA and QC requirements Providing clear commissioning status updates to customers and internal stakeholders Identifying technical issues and working with teams to resolve them properly Supporting continuous improvement across commissioning and delivery processes What We Are Looking For We are looking for a Commissioning Manager or senior commissioning professional with a mechanical engineering, mechanical services, HVAC, building services or mission critical construction background. You may have worked for a major mechanical contractor, HVAC contractor, building services company, data centre contractor, industrial services provider or critical infrastructure business. Relevant backgrounds may include: Mechanical services commissioning HVAC commissioning Building services commissioning Data centre commissioning Mission critical infrastructure Chillers, AHUs, CRAC or CRAH systems UPS and supporting critical power systems BMS integration and controls interfaces Alarm testing, dry contacts and monitoring systems Facility turnover, punch lists and technical handover What Will Make You Successful This role will suit someone who is technically strong, well organised and confident dealing with customers. You will need to be able to explain technical issues clearly, keep commissioning activity moving and produce documentation that gives customers confidence. The right person will be collaborative, practical and calm under pressure. You will know how to work with project managers, engineers, service teams and site contractors without creating friction.
